Malia's patronus is a dragon, and and Grim's a serpent. Robin goes out after then with a skeleton horse, and then a girl has a dog, while a boy has what looks like a beetle.
"Alright Lily, you're next. Remember, just think of something happy."
I walk up to the front of the room and try to think of something happy. Something with dad? Nope. Mom? Don't really remember her. Maybe....
"Expecto Patronum." I flick my wand and a beautiful stallion prances out, shaking his mane and prancing around the room, and I realize he has a horn, and he's a unicorn.
A unicorn. Woah.
I walk back to my chair as he runs at the wall and disappears in a shimmer of light.
After class ends we're walking to the astronomy tower when Grim walks up next to me. "Hey."
I smile at him and tuck the loose strands of hair flying around my face behind me ear.
"I was wondering if.. uh... you wanted to walk to class together?"
We walk in silence for a minute.
"So, a snake."
"Must be due to parentage."
I laugh quietly as we turn the corner and start up the long set of stairs.
"At least your parent isn't evil." I smile at his indignant tone but it fades after seeing his semi-serious frown.
"I will be. Just thinking."
"About what?" He shrugs and looks down and his books before looking around then he looks at me again.
"This fall ball thing. I want to ask someone but I'm not exactly sure she'll say yes."
"Lily, we're going to have a sleep-over, just us girls tonight."
"Malia!" Grim turns and frowns at her. "I was going to ask Lily to the ball!"
I stand there frozen for a moment as Malia and Robin look at each other and back away quickly.
"That's what you were elegantly stumbling around?"
He nods, looking at the ground with bright red cheeks.
"So, are you still going to ask me, or did that unfortunate interruption change your mind?"
