Hello fellow Cahills,
I need your help in a new hunt that I have recently discovered. This hunt is called Fenn's Treasure Hunt. Forrest Fenn is an author, and he hid a bronze chest filled with over 1 million dollars of treasure somewhere in the Rocky mountains north of Santa Fe, New Mexico for anyone to find. He published a book, "The Thrill of the Chase", which contains a poem that contains nine clues to where the treasure is. Also, if you read the book itself, it will help you on your quest to find the treasure. I figured that if us Cahills worked on this hunt, we would most certainly solve it with our deciphering, code cracking skills. Also, this will be a fun task for all of us. Below is the poem and some other clues given by Fenn himself.
As I have gone alone in there
And with my treasures bold,
I can keep my secret where,
And hint of riches new and old.
Begin it where warm waters halt
And take it in the canyon down,
Not far, but too far to walk.
Put in below the home of Brown.
From there it’s no place for the meek,
The end is ever drawing nigh;
There’ll be no paddle up your creek,
Just heavy loads and water high.
If you’ve been wise and found the blaze,
Look quickly down, your quest to cease,
But tarry scant with marvel gaze,
Just take the chest and go in peace.
So why is it that I must go
And leave my trove for all to seek?
The answers I already know,
I’ve done it tired, and now I’m weak.
So hear me all and listen good,
Your effort will be worth the cold.
If you are brave and in the wood
I give you title to the gold.
ADDITION: MARCH 1st Clue: “The Treasure is hidden higher than 5000 feet above sea level.”
ADDITION: MARCH 27th Clue: “No need to dig up the old outhouses, the treasure in not associated with any structure.”
ADDITION: MAY 3rd Clue: “The treasure is not in a graveyard.”
ADDITION: JUNE 28th Clue: “The treasure is not hidden in Idaho or Utah.”
In September 2013, Fenn announced the publication of a new book, Too Far to Walk, containing a pullout map of the area surrounding the treasure.
In January 2015, Fenn revealed in a new interview: "I know the treasure chest is wet."
On the July 12th, 2015 episode of the CBS television show in an interview on "CBS New Sunday Morning", Fenn revealed that the treasure chest was not in a mine.
I hope we can all work together as Cahills to solve the clues and find the treasure. If you do want to work on this hunt, please also research Fenn's Treasure, and find out all you can about Fenn, his treasure, and his books and the clues they contain. Don't let me down Cahills! PLEASE RESPOND!!!! Thanks!
