My name be Erik! Everyone, stop calling my the girl with wings! Please! It's getting kind of annoying. Though they are my defining feature... Should I POV about what happened after I got taken from the room after falling off my bed? I'll make it really short. Easy enough. And really, it's just like going into the room. But nobody else is standing outside the door.
Suprisingly, the only place Ms. C took me was a giant room. It looked a bit like a gym, a place I was very familiar with. There was a man in the gym, with a chair across from him.
I warily approached him from the doorway.
"My name is Dr. Marcall. I am the head and creator of the serum." He sure did look the part. White lab coat and everything.
"I had you brought here to test your powers. Everyone is going through it. But you, you got genetically modefied. That was not supposed to happen. It must have been some sort of strange glitch. Anyway," He cleared his throat, looking up from the clipboard he had been studying. "we must make the most of what we got. Fly."
I stared at him blankly. "What?"
He sighed. "You have wings, do you not? Now fly."
"But... But... There isn't enough room in here!" I spluttered. This was absurd. Even though it was a big room, I would bash myself to bits on that ceiling! It's too low!
"Would you prefer to go outside?"
"Of course I would! Do you want me DEAD?"
"Fine. Follow me." He got up from his chair, obviously reluctant, and led me through a door. It let out on a small wooded area, with trees just starting to grow. "Now, fly. And you don't get any more arguments, because there is no roof here and you have PLENTY of space. Be glad I actually let you out."
I took a deep breath and arced my wings, which I had forgotten to fold back under my jacket in all the excitment. I closed my eyes and, trusting instincts I didn't even know I had, I leaped as high as I could into the air and flapped, forcing the air under them down beneath me. I continued doing that, and with each powerful thrust I rose smoothly higher into the air. When I got high enough, about 100 feet, off the ground, I pulled my wings in and fell forwards, the wind rushing in my face and whistling in my ears.
I was almost scared. Almost. I was almost scared, but I trusted completely the apendages I had had for less than 24 hours.
When I was about to hit the ground, I snapped my wings open, barely skimming the ground before hurtling back into the sky.
It was the most exhilerating thing I'd ever done.
I spent another maybe fifteen minutes showing off, before falling the way I had off my bed and landing lightly on the ground, my heart pounding, my wings begging for more release. I folded them back through the slits in my coat, and followed Dr. Whatsit back into his gym, where he tested my reflexes and a few other things, including taking a knife and slicing open my arm. That didn't turn out so well. I ended up with a peice of cloth wrapped around my arm. When he was done, there were some interesting results. I, in his words, "have superhuman abilities, wings, enhanced reflexes, and enhanced hearing."
Well, I coulda figured that out on my own.
After that, I joined the line of people that was outside the gym, and after a few people went in I got surprised by screaming. My head flipped around to look at the door. The first girl to enter the injection room was running t'wards the door, but she got shot down by dart guns a finger's breadth from the handle. All of us in the line stood there in shock as she got dragged through the door I had gone through, the one that lead outside.
"Should we leave?" I murmered. The words fell out of my mouth before I could stop them. That had been scary.
"You saw what happened." The other techie told me. They all looked like they were going to be sick.
"Relax guys," another girl, I think her name was Aubrey said. We all turned and looked at her. "They're just testing out powers, Maria must have panicked or something."
Before she could say anything more, she got called and dragged into the room by three guards.
Okay, longer than I thought it would be. I guess it is basiclly inpossible for me to write a short POV.
