"I just cannot believe we have to show up for all of our cabins..." says an annoyed Daisy.
"Says you, I had to go to one before this, and afterward I need to go to one more. Emil's lucky, being the actual demigod here," replied Malia.
"Are you saying being a Legacy hasn't been good for you so far?" I gently tease. The two look down and don't answer.
It dawned on me that these two had to suffer under the effects of having the powers of both Hecate and Hades. In Malia's case, she has to suffer under the side effects of being a legacy under three gods.
"I-I'm sorry, I shouldn't have said-"
I stopped myself. I'm such an idiot.
The cabin check finishes and the two leave to attend their other checks. Being Cabin 20, the last on the roster of cabins here, you'd assume that we would have been the last instead. Once they left, I walked over to the center of the room and prepared to cast my magic.
This entire cabin could be remodeled into anything I can imagine using magic. It's modeled after the Hecate cabin from Camp Half-blood, which works the same way. Even if my affinity and gift for sorcery is... lacking, this room can amplify itself for me. Either that or mother herself pities me and grants me a few exceptions here and there.
Wow, I'm a failure. Can't even properly cheer up my step-sisters. Don't even have the skills in sorcery.
"... Great, now I need to cheer myself up."
I rearrange the room into my dream bedroom. The walls change to be softer, and padded. The floor turns into a giant mattress, comfortable no matter where you sleep. I collapse and close my eyes. Hopefully no one walks in on me right now.
And hopefully no one realizes I won't be out there today. It's not like I usually go outside like I did today, anyway.
Today was already too exhausting.
"Maybe I'll get comfort from my family in my dreams..."
I slip into pure bliss as the darkness fills my eyes.
