So I love books. Like a lot. And I was thinking about how certain lines from books- if they aren't inspiring or really mean anything- can make us happy, give us nostalgia, moving us in ways other things can't. Like, say you grew up watching star wars, so whenever you heard the words "a long time ago, in a galaxy far, far away..." That would just. ..make you happy. Or the quotes can be from things you haven't even read, but they still have a special meaning to you. I just wanted a little place to share mine, but I'd love it if you'd add some of your favorites too.
"But there’s something about the darkness, the stillness of this hour,
I think, that creates a language of its own.
There’s a strange kind of freedom in the dark; a terrifying vulnerability we allow ourselves
at exactly the wrong moment,
tricked by the darkness into thinking it will keep our secrets.
We forget that the blackness is not a blanket;
we forget that the sun will soon rise.
But in the moment, at least,
we feel brave enough to say things we'd never say in the light."
"One must always be careful of books," said Tessa. " and what is in them, for they have the power to change us. "
The Mad Hatter : Have I done mad?
Alice: I'm afraid so. You're entirely bonkers. But I'll tell you a secret. All the best people are.
"Beholdl The god's chosen beverage! Tremble before the horror of diet coke!"
"No one says goodbye unless they want to see you again."
I'll add more later.
Please tell us why you'd like to report this post
