I love climbing, jumping, running across roof tops(also fairies... and some princesses.) Picking pockets is fun(only from rich people though.)
being chased by the police however, is not(not even when it's a chubby middle aged guy with a donut.)
"Come back here! Miss! Someone get that girl!"
I didn't even steal anything big today. Poop.
I climb up the stoplight, balance beam walk across it, then jump to a nearby building. The gathering crowd below gasps. "I'm fine! Don't worry, I do this all the time!"
I turn, jump gracefully onto a fire escape, climb down, and-
The trench coat wearing officer catches me.
"You were promoted since last time! Cool! But I can't stay and talk-"
"Sorry kiddo." he handcuffs me to him. "There was someone who wanted to see you at the station."
He grabs my now free hand before I can pull away. "And you're going to talk to them."
"How are they any different then-"
I pout. "Fine."
A few minutes later we're walking through the doors of the big ol' police office in the center of the city. "Wait here." He points to a bench, where I sit and smile up at him. "Don't move."
He walks over to a desk and starts talking to a tall girl with black hair. She looks over at me, and the fourty-ish year old man waves with a smile. I wave back.
When the three of them look again, I’m gone.
“Thank you, Chief Phillips. You’ve been extremely helpful. You’ve no idea how long it would have taken us to find her if you hadn’t-“ She’s gone. Lovely.
“I’ll be right back. Wait here Thomas.” I walk out the door and look around. There. Fire escape. Should be fairly easy to catch her.
It is soooooo easy to escape jail! Or… not even jail really. They don’t throw kids my age in jail, do they? Oh well. I climb up the side fire escape, only to be met by the girl up at the top. “What do you want? I can fight you know.”
A small smile starts on her face, but then it’s gone. “I’m not trying to fight you. I just want to talk to you. About your parents. Your father.”
“They’re dead. I saw my mommy die.”
“Well, you’re father is alive. And he’s Robin. Yes, the one in the comics.”
AWWEEESSSOOMMEE!!!!!!! “Was my mom actually a fairy princess?!?!?!?”
“Sorry. Never mind. C’mone. If you know about my dad, tell me.”
We end up riding home in the car, with Thomas driving. “So.” The girl sits next to me munching on a chocolate bar. “How long have yoouuu known?” “For less then a month now. I’m still trying to find others.”
“Other children of heroes.”
“Ohhh…. Cool!!!!!! So… my dad is Robin, which explains a lot. I guess yours is Batman then?” I look down sharply at the small girl. “How did you-“ She looks up at me with such a serious face that I almost can’t keep talking. “Really? All dark colors, the butler, fancy car, black hair, finding the kid of Robin first?” Maybe I was a little too obvious in my endeavors. Hmm. “When we get to my mother’s house you’ll get cleaned up, and I’ll show you the version of the Batcave my dad left. Got it?” She nods vigorously. “O-kay!!”
I take out my phone and text Ethan.
Can we talk?
It’s about my dad….
Yes. Where? When?
Now maybe? Please? If it’s convenient.
So. My father is a super hero. And He’s Captain America. Merp. It does explain some things though. Like the strength and athletic stuff. Still……… just…… wow.
I hope they're okay! :)
If the POV for Lillian doesn't work, then ignore it I guess.....
