Instincts kicked in. Ratchet had done this before. I gunned it and tore down the streets until I reached near the woods. The helicopters flew overhead, trying to find me. "Hang on, kid!" There was a cave in front of me. I revved the engine and flew into the darkness, and shut everything off. "Shh.."
Her face was fearful as the helicopters flew overhead. The boots of the men thumped on the ground as they passed by. I opened the door and slowly pushed her out and crept forward.
They were gone. My systems were overheating. "Get back in." which she quickly complied. I could hear my engine purring as I drove forward into the cave.
"Where are we going?" she whispered.
"I don't know. But it's not safe out there right now. They will come back." I said.
"And what is this logo? And why does it light up when you talk? And what are these little bars?"
I turned left through the cave, being sure to remember where I came from. "I believe that it is the logo of the Autobots. I think they were around years ago, and they helped the humans. I don't know why it lights up, but the bars are my voice box levels."
"That's cool! Can you make it change colors?"
Another left, then a right, then another left. I hoped that this cave opened up more, somehow. Or at least had a small opening. "I'm not sure."
"Can you transform into animals? Or is it just cars? Are there more of you?"
"I DON'T KNOW." I spat. My temper seemed to switch levels. "Sorry, temper switch again."
"COOL!" she exclaimed. "When you got mad, it turned red!" She was watching the logo intently.
"Look, kid, you can't stay with me. It's dangerous."
"I don't care." she snorted. "I'm not leaving. Besides, if I go back there, then they'll get me."
She was right. They would come after her, they saw her get in. "Alright, fine. But we'll get a few things straight. You do not get any of your drawing stuff on the seats, okay? That's part of me, and I don't need paint or whatever else you use on me. And second, you cannot tell anyone else me."
"Got it!" she smiled. "Look, the cave opens up!"
The cave opened up into a massive clearing that was dry and dark. I flicked on my headlights and kept on going.
"Welcome to your new home, kid."
