Dearest Bess,

   Mhm, brownies. I adore brownies.

Yup. That's a quote from my Dad; he says it all the time. He's such an encouraging, good, kind man and I'm glad to be able to call him my father. I love that verse; my parents and I were reading Romans the other day, and we read that chapter, and suddenly I realized how long it's been since I've written! I felt awful! ISIS? Oh, dear, Bess, stay safe!

If you're wondering what we're doing in Romans(you weren't, but I'm explaining anyways. :D), my whole church has been doing a Read The Bible In One Year type thing. We're already in 1 Corinthians, and I find it so encouraging to be reading Paul's Letters to the Christians!

BIG NEWS! After all the depression, loneliness, and hard conscious I faced all summer; on August 28, I was baptized in the name of Jesus Christ by immersion. Christ died for me, and now I must live for him. I am very happy, but also very sad. Because now I must be very careful about what I say and do, for now, I represent Christ.

That's great! My fascination with the Marine Corps originated on television :P and I'm obsessed to this day! Your friend sounds great!

Honestly, being a Christian has changed me for the better. I feel more confident, happier, and more courageous than ever!

                          With Love,

                                Brownie. ;)

There's nothing to forgive,

But I always thought you'd come back, tell me all you found was,

Heartbreak and misery,

It's hard for me to say, I'm jealous of the way,

You're happy without me..

I know what you mean.  My friend Tessa and I (we actually met on here) do this thing where we list three things of the day that we've accomplished, no matter how small they are,and then three good things about the other person.  It helps me...would you like to try it?

1.  I got out of bed.

2.  I read my bible.

3.  I am talking to Clev.

1.  Clev is inspiring to other people, including me.

2. Clev has a great sense of humor.

3. Clev is welcoming and encouraging to newbies on the MB.

4. Clev is kind.

You can get through this Brownie, and you can take your time.  Nobody is forcing you and you have so many people who are here to support you.  :)  Your MB family loves and cares about you so much.

*reminds Bess to save her letters next time*

What'd the lovesick boys do? Did they leave yet?

I know it did :D The Les Mis fandom calls it the brick bc it's so long. I'm pretty sure he got paid by the word, so he put a bunch of unrelated stuff in it and that's why it's so big xD I tried reading it once and then I gave up. I read a shortened version of it in French last year, though, and that's how I got stuck in the Les Mis fandom.

I watched a bunch of videos about ballet classes while I was procrastinating xD It looks hard O_o Do you take singing lessons? I haven't gone swimming in a million years. I started ludo, though :D

Hehehehe I will try to remember those :D Good luck to your sister! How old is she?

I HOPE THEY MAKE A FILM VERSION OF IT THOUGH like I can listen to the songs and whatever but I'm not really into it. I don't really know the plot bc I can never figure out who's singing what :( and besides, you have to actively listen to a musical to get the full effect and the one time I listened to the whole soundtrack, I put it on as background music so yeah

Kool, so you're in 11th grade now? Oh heh, nevermind. I'm lowkey worried about college and stuff like I'm already planning my courses three year sin advance and like I know I shouldn't be worried about that yet but I am ugh *facetree* I want to take so many courses but like there's only so much room so now I'm trying to figure out which courses to cut xD

Do you know how to drive? xD I'm glad you found one.

Thank you!

@Chu: Yes, we talk as much as we can on Figment. I actually haven't heard from her in a bit, she said she's not doing that well...so I'm a bit worried about her. And miss her a lot. The lovesick boys have toned down a bit, but now one of them hates me and told a bunch of our mutual friends some stuff about me that wasn't true, so that's been stressful and I have to keep reminding myself to go higher and let my actions speak for me. In French? That's very impressive, Chewy! (And I'm so so sorry if my comments on Le Mis sounded condescending, I didn't mean that at all.) Well, if you do read the whole “brick” sometime, you can carry it around with you and use it as a self-defense weapon if you ever get mugged haha. How well do you know French? Do you know any other languages? I only have English and Spanish. This weekend I'm actually going to a thing called “immersion” that lasts five hours and where you're only allowed to speak Spanish. I'm a little nervous, but it should be fun! Ballet is hard, and I'm still just a beginner. I wasn't able to move up a class level this year, which made me sad for awhile, but I focused on my technique this year and helping other people in my class, and I got the chance to strengthen a bunch of friendships that way and encourage others. Then I found out that the only reason was because the class above us was too full...so I could maybe have gotten in. I'm hoping next evaluation that I will. :) I know that sounds all very professional, but our studio is small and honestly goes more towards modern and jazz. The same three teachers teach all the different classes and dance types, so our ballet classes aren't that hardcore haha and we are very chill. There's only two of us who usually wear leotards XD...and I totally don't. We actually had a recital recently, which went really well! :)
I do not take singing lessons, but I've been singing since I was born, and my mom is a music teacher. I've been in many of her classes and choirs, and my siblings and I have a music group together. We used to perform places a lot, but we haven't in recent times because we're all so busy and going our separate ways haha. If you don't mind me asking, what is ludo? Pardon my lack of knowledge, please. Oh, and "Mélamar", a Quenya word that means “home,” is one of my very favorite elvish words.
She's almost 22.
You know, what if there was a TV channel or a website that played only professionally filmed Broadway musicals? That way the artists would receive money for their work instead of getting ripped of by badly filmed pirate versions and all the poor people who don't money to fly to New York or pay for a show ticket could see them. ;) That would be one of the most amazing things ever.
Yep, I'm in 11th grade, and no, I don't know how to drive yet. I'm going to try and take drivers ed this fall. ;)
I have full confidence that you'll figure out all the college stuff just fine. :)

@Lyss: Hmm...that's okay. Heaven knows you're not required to talk to me XD

@Clairykins: Ughhh, this week was akin to an unpleasant stay in the realm of Hades. On the bright side, I found out that the cracks in the ceiling above my bed resemble the face of a cat. ;) (Randomly, I was thinking about Hades, and realized he's actually a much nicer guy than either of his brothers, who run around with girls. He just stays in the underworld with his stolen wife and makes sure the Titans don't destroy the world. XD) Yes, I'm still doing childcare. I'm not nannying anyone right now, but I already have a job lined up for the summer. Right now I'm working for two church groups, and babysitting fairly steadily for various clients. In the fall I did some housecleaning as well, but that's recently been set aside for a little bit. I assume if I'm feeling okay, I'll do it again in the spring.
Me too...
Christmas was good, and so far, 2017 has given me chances to begin and further some really good relationships. *shrieks aloud with you* So, how were exams? I bet you did fabulous. :)
*hugs tight* Oh Clairykins, that is really, really tough. :(
I'll post on our Figment thread. :)
*seriously hopes the Mods let this through because we're technically not supposed to reference other websites*

I was going to learn Spanish next year in grade 10, but I also wanted to do some science/math/music courses so I didn't have enough space in my timetable :( It's funny bc our class is French and you're only allowed to speak French but everyone speaks English anyway xD *facepalm* I made a typo, I meant judo xD

Dear Bess,

Hello. I'm Lani. We've never met, but you seem like a aweseome advice giver. And I need advice. So I'll start.

I'm bipolar. This is a problem for me, seeing as how I scared a few of my friends because of that. I also have multiple personaltiy disorder. I have all these different sides of me, and I never know which one I'll be. I might be entering a story contest. However, I don't take criticism well.

I just need advice.

Dear Lani,

Hi, its nice to meet you.  :)  Well, I can't say I'm great at giving advice, but I promise to listen, and offer you advice when asked for.

Having a mental illness doesn't define you, Lani.  You're so much more!  And some of those problems can actually be a small blessing...through them, you can find out who your true friends are.  They're the ones who will stick by you no matter what.  You're also stronger than you think!  When things get overwhelming, take life second by second, minute by minute, hour by hour, day by day.  Focus on the small things.  I know it sounds generic, but it really works.  Struggling with chronic Lyme disease, depression, and severe anxiety, that's been one of the most helpful things I learned...sadly, it took me waaay too long to figure it out!

Just remember, you are beautiful no matter what!  None of these things make you "less" of a person.  You're a beautiful human being, made in God's very image, and He loves  you so much.  Um, if my talking about God makes you uncomfortable, I'll stop, and won't say anything unless you ask me to.  He's so wonderful though, and I want to share about His love with everyone! :)

Enter that story contest!!!  I think you'll do great!  I'd love to read one of your stories, do you have any on the MB?  I know, I don't take criticism well either.  But it can be so valuable, and help you do better in the future. :)

Please, if you need someone to talk to, know that you can come here.

Love,

Bess
